Saying "Goodbye" to the Wilshire Grand Hotel

We all know the saying, "All good things come to an end." Alas, the time has come for us to say good-bye to our friends and wonderful partners at the Wilshire Grand Hotel. Tomorrow - December 23 - after 59 years, the hotel will bid farewell to its last guest before being demolished. Future plans for the lot include a two-tower hotel and condominium skyscraper, slated to open in 2015.

Recently, LA Downtown News published an article that included employees recounting their memories working at the hotel. On the hotel's website, you can watch a video that takes a look at the establishment, then and now.

It seems a little unfair that this is what the holiday season has in store for a site that has been such a part of Downtown, seeing everyone from the Pope, to celebrities to politicians. But, we realize that change can be good, and look forward to welcoming our new anchor at 7th and Figueroa.

From the staff at ExperienceLA.com, we say "Thank you" to the Wilshire Grand Hotel and all its staff for being such great partners, providing us with prizes over the years for our annual surveys and promotional giveaways, as well as sharing its website traffic with us.
