Literary LA: Free Events

Don't eat your books.

As much as I love a good book, sometimes books are made better when you're not reading them, but experiencing them!  Check out some great - and free! - events around Los Angeles that takes your reading material off the page!  Just try not to eat the books like the zombie to your right...

• Early Warner Bros Studios (Saugus Train Station, Santa Clarita): E.J. Stephens, a member of the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society's Board of Directors, and author of the new Images of America book Early Warner Bros Studios, will present the history of the exciting early days of Warner Brothers, as part of the Historical Societys lecture series. (February 26, 2011)
• ALOUD at Central Library Series (Downtown LA): This ongoing series at the Downtown Central Library features discussions and interviews including book and author related events.  While we highy recommend all their events, upcoming literary events include Joan Schenkar & Kathleen Chalfant, The Talented Miss Highsmith (March 1, 2011) and Colin Thubron, Climbing Through Memory & Magic in Tibet (March 17, 2011).
• Hammer Museum: Hammer Readings (West LA): The Hammer Museum includes Hammer Reading events among their eclectic public offerings. Upcoming literary events include Hammer Readings: New American Writers: Anne Beattie & Margaret Wappler (March 9, 2011) and Hammer Readings: Some Favorite Writers: Jayne Anne Phillips (March 10, 2011)
