A Cirque du Soleil show to call our own: Tickets to "IRIS" go on sale

Hey Oscar, meet your new roommate! The Kodak Theatre's new resident, the long-awaited, dedicated L.A. Cirque du Soleil show arrives summer of 2011. Though "IRIS - A Journey Through the World of Cinema" debuts next year, eager fans will have a chance to purchase tickets in advance this coming Monday, November 22. Just in time for the holidays...
A special event will take place in Hollywood to kick things off early. In true, Hollywood fashion, fans will have an opportunity to see Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte receive a star on the Walk of Fame, meet and have photo ops with Cirque du Soleil performers, win prizes from KIIS FM, and - my favorite - free treats from Crumbs Cupcakes, among other activities going on.

The L.A. show's theme celebrates the history of cinema - a fitting theme for Los Angeles. As with all Cirque du Soleil shows, fans can look forward to the amazing dance, acrobatics, characters and music (including songs by movie regular Danny Elfman) that are trademark to the brand. In addition, the show will incorporate live video, filmed sequences and animation to explore the movie-making process in a way that only Cirque du Soleil can.

As an added bonus to those who purchase tickets early from the box office on Monday, a voucher good for two tickets to any Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas also awaits you. More details are available at ExperienceLA.com.
